A Legacy of Service and Innovation
Originally built in 1991, the facility housed Sallie Mae/Navient, the nation’s leading education loan management company, employing 2,300 people. Over the years, Fairchild Communication Systems supported the complex with essential systems, including access control, video surveillance, fiberoptic cabling, and telecom infrastructure. Even as the company transitioned from Sallie Mae to Navient in 2014, Fairchild Communication Systems continued to deliver the latest communication technology to meet their evolving needs.
A New Chapter: From Navient to The Link at Fishers District
In 2022, the site entered a new era. The Chicago-based real estate firm M&J Wilkow and New York investment consultant DRA Advisors acquired the property and rebranded it The Link at Fishers District, reflecting its proximity to the vibrant culinary and retail enclave nearby. Updates to common areas and amenities attracted new tenants, transforming the complex into a dynamic multi-tenant space.
Today, The Link houses three major tenants:
- Navient: Continuing its legacy as a cornerstone employer in Fishers.
- Fiserv: A leading financial services company.
- Pendrick: A medical debt purchaser.
Tailored Communication Solutions for a Modern Era
Despite the ownership and tenant changes, one constant has been Fairchild Communication Systems. As new tenants moved in, Fairchild Communication Systems updated the complex’s communication systems, rewiring the infrastructure to allow for independent network operation while maintaining seamless functionality for all users. This included state-of-the-art upgrades to security, surveillance, and telecom systems, ensuring that each tenant’s unique needs were met. Also, we continue to support our long time customer, Navient, as they continue to adapt to changing technology while being the premiere tenant in the building.
