Purchasing Administrator Job Description
Fairchild Communication Systems, Inc., a state leader in systems integration, is seeking a skilled and proactive Purchasing Administrator to join our dynamic team.
The Purchasing Administrator is responsible for the daily tasks associated with Purchasing, material management, vendor relations, and internal processes focused on Purchasing and on-time material delivery. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Project Managers, Sales, and Engineering and manages client/vendor relationships to meet or exceed client expectations.
Essential Functions
- Assist Purchasing Manager with daily tasks.
- Work with Project team on placing orders for material needed for projects.
- Work with vendors on getting ETAs for material.
- Assist services department in sourcing material.
- Update internal system with ETAs.
- Assist with internal change orders for project material.
- Update vendor price sheets into our internal system.
- Assist Accounting with invoicing questions.
- Upload credit card expenses for Purchasing Department.
- Set up new part numbers.
- Assist Engineering and sales team with quote requests or other purchasing needs.
- Fill out credit apps for new vendors.
- Assist with material cycle counts.
- Assist in yearly material inventory.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma required.
- Background in purchasing or administration role preferred but not required.
- Any appropriate combination of education and experience as determined by management.
