Fairchild Communications is playing an integral role in the new $62.5 million health professions building for the College of Health on Ball State University’s campus. The future facility will span 165,000 square feet and will be home to 16 clinics, multiple laboratories and centers, teaching labs, offices, an adult physical fitness center and six health-related academic departments.
Fairchild Communications will be installing all the data cabling infrastructure work for the building. This includes 2,440 copper data outlets and 336 fiber optic connections. The data cabling will support 140 different wireless access points throughout the building making it easy for students, teachers and staff to connect online.
“The Fairchild team is proud to be a part of such an important project,” said Chuck Fairchild, Owner and President of Fairchild Communication Systems. “It is rewarding when others in the construction industry recognize that we are the best partner for successful high-tech projects. The research and teaching that our systems and this building will enable will improve lives and create the next generation of healthcare professionals.”
Over 30 teaching spaces, classrooms, meeting spaces and simulation labs will have high tech presentation systems installed by Fairchild Communications. Teachers and students will rely on these systems to share images and presentations for their collaboration needs.
