The Project Manager is responsible for overall communication and completion of assigned projects.  He or she coordinates the installations with each customer, internal installation and technical personnel, and any associated subcontractors.  In addition to maintaining and/or improving the project profitability, the Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of each project from project turn-over to project completion, including, but not limited to, material acquisition, scheduling, coordination, invoicing, and contract fulfillment.  The position will require an individual that is self-motivated and accountable for his or her actions to achieve the best outcome possible.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Plans, organizes, and staffs systems installation projects to ensure they are completed profitably, in a timely manner, and according to customer expectations.
  • Processes project specific paperwork, as well as internal paperwork in a professional and timely manner.  Works with administration to ensure timely billing to customer.
  • Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies and services and controls timely delivery to job site
  • Serves as Team Leader and Supervisor for the group of technicians assigned.
  • Participates in annual field performance review process; conducts effective employee performance reviews in a timely manner; and maintains employee relations.
  • Coordinates and processes project change orders.
  • Monitors job status and controls job costs.
  • Attends weekly and monthly meetings (i.e., Staffing Meeting, PM Meeting, Job Meeting, etc.).
  • Visits various jobsites and interacts with crew and customers to ensure proper job progress and to support and encourage safe behavior.
  • Effectively communicates goals and clear direction with team members.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training and one (1) year of electrical estimating experience; or
  • Five (5) years experience in the electrical trade and one year of electrical estimating experience; or
  • An individual can be considered a Project Manager once he/she is operating independently (as determined by PM Director, VP, or President) and has obtained two to three years of successful project management experience (equating to, generating $400K in Gross Margin dollars in two of the last three years or an appropriate amount of gross margin dollars and experience as determined by management).
  • Any appropriate combination of education and experience as determined by management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well organized.
  • Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work individually or in groups.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of AIA Documentation preferred but not required.
  • Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation. 
  • Valid and current driver’s license.
